Per the description, caps mine: "This application is a universal Wi-Fi remote control launcher that ALLOWS A USER TO CONTROL NETWORK-CONNECTABLE DEVICES RELEASED SINCE 2012. If both a smart phone and a LG device are connected to the same router, you can use your phone as a traditional remote control after a simple connection process." Well...no. This didn't find our TV. The interface looks like it is only intended for disc players, and it did not find our TV. I just want a usable remote app!

TL;DR - it's hot garbage. Don't bother. In short it just straight up doesn't work. You try to use the controls in the app and nothing happens. I got the app to use our LG blu-ray player like the instructions said and could not have been more disappointed. It messed it up so bad that I repeatedly couldn't even get it to shut off with the app, remote or power button on the player and had to unplug the power and start over several times. No, it's not my phone. We tried others with the same results

I don't know what everyone is complaining about. The remote that came with my LG Blu-ray player disappeared so I downloaded this. Works great! You need WiFi access for both the remote and the player for them to work together, or wifi for the remote and Ethernet hookup for the player. You do NOT need an IR blaster on your phone. Just make sure you understand this and it should work fine. Also, turn on the player first then open the app.
