About this game

Wizardry Variants Daphne carries on the lineage of the classic RPG series, Wizardry. The portal to the labyrinth of despair, where even destruction is pleasure, has opened once again.

■ Story
Once every 100 years, the Abyss opens.

It is a curse of death that consumes the continent. A Warlock who coveted Death, devoured people and animals and enveloped the world in despair.

Inheriting the power to seal the Abyss over generations, kings have continued to protect the kingdom from its curse.

But now, the king has vanished, and the world is being consumed by death, moment by moment.

Resistance itself is meaningless.
There is naught but to perish.

It's an astounding game that is a lot of fun, however, I've encountered a softlocking bug that makes my game unplayable and crash on startup. My first encounter with a mimic has me start with a black screen and audio for combat, but immediately crashes afterwards. On reboot, it loops me back to the same battle and crashes again. Overall it's a lot of fun and I strongly recommend you try it out, but be aware there are bugs like this.

Really enjoying this new Wizardry title thus far. Fantastic ad-free dungeon crawler with a lot of promise. I did encounter a game breaking bug that made me miss a cutscene and crash every time I tried to look at a particular character, but clearing my cache fixed the issue. I did not have to uninstall and start over like other commenters have claimed you need to. Glad they're working on stability and looking forward to future story updates and features.

Game-wise, it's one of the best! It's a unique dark fantasy dungeon crawler with light horror themes reminiscent of the ps2 era. My gripe is that the gacha element is just too expensive for what you get and the rewards system is too stingy with it's free resources. An easy analogy: let's pretend it takes $1 worth of resources to do a 10x pull. Each reward (including 100% all daily missions) nets you 1/2 a penny. You'd have to earn 200 rewards for one 10x pull, and the rewards are slow to earn.
