Just started using this. Two quibbles so far. First, the app forces the user to change certain settings before allowing use. Second, when units are set to miles, the app still measures in meters up to the first mile (after that it switches to miles). I'm trying to gauge the accuracy of the app by seeing if app measurements align with known distances (e.g. will it say 1/2 mile traveled when I've traveled 1/2 mile?) and am stuck doing the conversion myself. Trust we want the units we say we want.

1. Without forcing Location to Always, Android may kill the app after some time (for phone about 40 minutes). So without that the app wi8ll not work for many users. If you do not trust the code, just remove all permissions after use.
2. Miles etc is hard to handle. Open an issue on GitHub on how you believe it should work.

I think I've used every major software in this niche at one point or another over many years. All I want is program to map the walks I take with my dog or for exercise and keep track of it and sometimes share it. I end up dropping these apps for being too intrusive glitchy or bloated etc. So far I'm loving RunnerUp for solving all of those issues for me.

This is apparently the only app that does the basic task of audibly notifying you when your heart rate monitor goes above or below a certain zone. Plus it has mapping, good announcements, and you can set up whatever time and distance intervals you want. I replaced three other apps with just this one. And it's not trying to sell you a subscription or spam you, either. Amazing.
