About this game

Every game you play is uniquely generated from building blocks. No two levels are the same, no two game sessions are the same. As you progress through the levels you get to collect items for your inventory : weapons, shields, and dozens of other type items. Each item in your inventory is a card in your deck.

Don't want certain cards? don't pick them up! That's how you build your deck in this game: as you go.

When you encounter aliens, you will engage with them in a card-battle: Either you or the alien will choose the first card, depending on who attacks who. And then the other picks his card. Defeat the alien, and move on to the next! Card battles are swift, and to the point.

The game will randomly generate events, alternate routes and decide what effects plant-spores have on you or the aliens. Like I said: no two games will be the same!

FEATURES

It's faster than the original & you can play in portrait view. There's an annoying pause between yourself & enemies playing cards against each other that gets irritating. The randomness is still there but things like random comets should be taken out because they ruin the game. Environments repeat after a few playthroughs. You have to run into enemies for combat so no more ranged combat. The original imo is a better game with more depth & exploration. Only buy when on sale.

I love the pace of this game. It's a light dungeoncrawl, in space, with just enough customization on a clever combat mechanic. I usually don't care much for deck-building games because my small brain quickly gets overwhelmed with options, but this doesn't have that effect on me. It feels more like a "collect and prune" which I can deal with. Controls are great on a phone.

I loved Space Grunts as a turn-based shooter, so when I heard SG2 was using a card-based system, I was sceptical. Upon playing, I initially found it confusing (why can't I access all my cards? how do I use health cards? etc), but all becomes clear the more you play. It actually works very well and is a lot of fun, and very addictive too. I love the 50s/60s sci-fi aesthetic, although the Kirk impression is a bit dodgy! SG2 is a great sequel, worth every penny. And no ads, no PTW and no BS too!
