It's not bad and definitely worth checking out. There is potential here Advertises a lot of things that only work half the time. Doesn't expose much control or configuration options. It will actively lie to you And act like it has accessed resources that it is unable to until you question it. Basically you have to ask it everything twice if you want to be sure. I'm looking forward to seeing how the shapes up and I'll stick with it for the year. Not sure if I'll renew after that.

I absolutely love it! I often research a given topic from several resources and end up back at Perplexity for my answer. I have been surprised by the number of times Perplexity has provided me with more detailed and accurate answers than, let's say, ChatGPT. As for the actual design of the app; it could use some tweaking. I use it to obtain the correct answer. I am confident that is what I get through the app.

I pay for Perplexity. Yet the majority of the time when I click on the app and type something, there is no response or it says "retry". Likewise, the Discovery tab is often just a scrolling black screen. I presume they're overloaded, because when it works it's great. EDIT: I've switched to using the progressive web app (i.e. Chrome three dot menu, then "Add to Home Screen"). It works much better than this app.
