About this app

Utilising leading-edge technology and seamless integration with Anvil’s other award-winning risk management technology solutions; the Anvil app provides users with a simple interface to review their trip information (if travelling) and receive real-time alerts about emerging threats or live incidents in their locality that could impact their safety – now or in the near future.

If users find themselves in a vulnerable situation, a one-click feature will send an emergency SOS or check-in alert to their security team, or if subscribed to Anvil Assist, one-click connection to the 24/7 medical and security advice and assistance service.

The app also offers a consolidated resource of up-to-date health and risk intelligence for all countries and major cities around the world; focussing on facts that can be depended on to support employees in uncertain or unfamiliar environments. This includes details of the latest restrictions imposed by governments concerning Covid-19.

Each country and city is assigned a risk level, so that users can quickly understand the risk profile of their destination. In addition, users can select to receive push notification alerts about developing situations or live incidents occurring in their immediate locality or other locations of interest, and visualise them instantly using the map view feature.

To avoid a saturation of alerts, the app allows users to set up alert profiles that can be defined by geographic location and threat levels of interest specific to their travel plans. Incidents are categorised under the six incident category headings of crime, general safety, health, security, transportation and other, with 75 sub-categories.

The app is supported by a global team of risk analysts who operate 24/7 to identify and report on events that could impact employee safety. In addition, the team is responsible for continually updating risk information to ensure the content is always the very latest available from our wide range of risk data sources. Our analysts monitor literally 1,000s of sources to gather relevant information, including:

• International, national and local media, newswires, social media and retained in-country sources
• The World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and United Nations
• Warnings and advisories from overseas embassies and consuls regarding security conditions for the countries in which they are operational
• In-country police, law enforcement, military, security and intelligence services
• Government and NGO organizations
• Anvil’s network of global partners and own employees located around the world

As well as reporting the established facts about an incident and providing advice, our analysts will geocode the exact location of the incident with longitude and latitude coordinates, and assign a threat level numeric indicator, so subscribers can understand the potential impact of the incident. Alerts are issued within 15 minutes of our analysts becoming aware of the incident.

The Anvil app is one product in a wide range of products and services designed by Anvil Group to support travel risk management, operational resilience and occupational health. Find out more here www.anvilgroup.com

This app is horrible. Slow to load. Plus the only notifications that I'm getting are national notifications not local. I would rather have push notifications about local shootings and other things right around me rather than learning that the CDC is doing something again. This app would be a whole lot better for me to use because I know my street and intersections I can avoid the area it's hard to avoid the area when I have to load this every single time and look. It's kind of pointless.

A safety app that requires log in details frequently on password protected devices is a joke! Feels like i am a beta tester! I am forced to use this app by my employer but in case of real emergency, neeless to say, that one does not have time to enter login details. Have brought this up several times with my company but nothing has improved yet. It is rubbish to me and only causes more stress than i need during my travel.

Subpar login system with basic settings. Login consists of email, password and 2FA code. However, exiting the app to get any other information (password if you have a randomized one or 2FA code) results in login screen resetting so you need to enter email (if not saved) and password again. If your 30 seconds for 2FA code are up, you're boned. Rinse and repeat. No biometric options for logging in. Also, why do I have to login every time? The app is already on my phone behind a passcode.
