The app seems well built. However, it consistently crashes when I am in the middle of reading an article. Reopening the app reloads the article from the top, meaning that you have to scroll back to your place. Additionally, there seems to be no way to control the amount of notifications the app sends.

I've been using the AP app on my Galaxy S23 Plus for over a year and a half. I originally rated it 5 stars due to it's unbiased, In-depth reporting on national news, entertainment and sports. I've changed my rating to 3 stars because over the last 3 or 4 months the app has been crashing while I'm reading an article and not even touching the screen. I've tried updating it to the latest version, uninstalling and reinstalling it, etc. and it keeps crashing. Please fix this bug.

Edit: They keep changing this back and forth, and I'm done. Allow us to turn this feature off and I might start using the app again. For now, I'm uninstalling. Seriously considering uninstalling this since the recent update made ads and videos play, with sound, every time I open the app. I can't find any way to turn this feature off, and you can't mute the videos - you have to turn off the sound on your phone altogether if you want to use the app without intrusive noise. Unusable this way.
