Loot boxes were introduced once the ship is 3 or 4.. sorta hiding those til later. Also, the map would be better to focus on taking colonies or tributes from those..the premise is there.. instead of moving along a map, it seems like moving along the map means losing progress from island to island Could easily have a town as it, persistent as is, and arrows or menu to better organize to view buildings for when the town gets bigger Walls, etc, and maybe keep map but have raiding pirate islands

You're going to give green potions instead of gems for defeating pirates now? I quit. Garbage game design. You are constantly limited in what you can build and have to grind so hard to get to the next ship or campfire upgrade. I had to let the pirates just beat me because I couldn't do much about it for a long time. It's full of glitches and there's zero motivation to move to the next encampment. Too slow! Especially upgrading characters. Don't waste your time.

This COULD be a decent game. I enjoyed the game up until it became apparent that you had to watch the ads or else get rampaged by pirates and yetis. Getting more people isn't that big of a deal when they die, but losing a ton of resources to pirates sure is. I have no problem with a game throwing in ads to get things moving a little faster, but this is like adding a penalty to not watching the ads. Sure, you have a choice to watch them or not, but again, pirates, and losing progress.
