About this game

It begins with a tiny egg. Tap it and marvel as it hatches into a Very Hungry Caterpillar. Can you find him some food to eat?

Eric Carle’s much-loved character, The Very Hungry Caterpillar™, has won the hearts of millions of children around the world for more than 50 years. Equally My Very Hungry Caterpillar app has been enthralling and teaching new generations of children in this award-winning toddler-friendly game. With over 6 million downloads to date this multi-award winning app has now been fully updated for this special 5th anniversary release.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar loves food and fun. Feed him, play with him, and make sure to tuck him up under his cosy leaf so he gets plenty of rest. The more the caterpillar grows the more new activities you unlock. Grow flowers, sort shapes, paint pictures, pick fruit, go sailing alongside cute rubber ducks and goldfish. You can even hunt for buried treasure with him. Push him on a swing. Have fun playing together. Help him explore, pick him up, or take a peek into his colourful toy box.

If you care for him, the caterpillar turns into a cocoon. Tap it and help transform him into a beautiful butterfly.

Then do it all again when a new egg appears.

It's a world of beauty and colour you'll return to again and again.

My 2 yr old loves it, we did decide to pay for it, and we don't regret it! My child finds the ladybug toy to be the funniest part of the whole game, she loves watering plants (real life and in game), enjoys feeding the caterpillar, etc. My only maybe complaint is I've seen people turn their caterpillar into butterflies and grow other things but our game does not do that. She doesn't know any different so it doesn't effect us much but I'm sure it would be cool if it did.

We are so happy your little one enjoys the app! We appreciate you feedback. The app gradually reveals itself over time. The more kids care for their caterpillar, the more new content appears. Reach us at [email protected] if you have any questions.

I downloaded this to keep two toddlers I was babysitting busy, but it was so cute and detailed that all three of us spent hours playing it! I LOVE the physics of the painting section especially. The music is cute and not annoying, the graphics are adorable, the animation is perfect, and there's so much to do without being overwhelming or confusing for the little ones. I could even see me using it to calm down from a panic attack because it's relaxing. Highly recommend for anyone with kids!

Really great game for our toddler, but two things make it infuriating to use sometimes: the caterpillar can be VERY hard to move to the island when he sits behind the boat. In fact most items require extremely precise finger placement to engage... Makes sense for clustered items but not the caterpillar. Second, the DING from the balloons is ear piercing. Lower the volume on those bad boys Otherwise this is a very very fun, relaxing, accessible game for young toddlers, a rarity
