The major advantage over similar apps is that you can adjust difficulty by elo rating, giving you more options for playing against the computer. Other apps have these options hidden behind a paywall, even though it was standard to be free only a few years ago.

Tablet UI is funky, the bottom area (moves) gets cut off on my tablet. I love dark mode on my phone, but it would be nice to have a light mode for e-Ink displays (e-readers). That being said, this is app is unmatched for analyzing your games, learning openings, and experimenting with variations. Make sure to tweak the core/ram settings to give it more power.

Absolutely the best chess app on Android. Can use some extra features (Maybe some tutorials on book moves and strategies in general, upload custom backgrounds, online matches, etc.). I have not bought pro yet, but for ten dollars, it really isn't much. I have learned a lot from this app, and hopefully will continue to use it for years to come.
