False advertising. Does NOT work with SRS-XB43 as claimed by Sony. Supposed to be able to control lighting function, app can't detect device. Also, why do you need GPS location data at all times for an offline Bluetooth speaker with a range of 30 feet? Can't use the app without it. Edit: I managed to get it to "work" by installing the Sony Music Center app and using it from within there. Forced FW update. Dumb app, very slow, don't bother, get a better party speaker if you want custom lights.

All custom lighting and DJ effects are manual: you have to press and hold on your phone screen to make the lights flash, and when you release, the lights stop flashing. I shouldn't have to press and hold; I should be able to turn on my custom flash and let go. It also is not possible to set the exact tempo of the flash. The app would be more useful if I could set the lights to flash at, for example, 90 bpm. Another useful but missing feature would be for the lights to flash in sync with the music; for example, the louder the music, the brighter the lights. Sony should provide an API to control the lights so that third-party developers can build custom programs for Sony speakers.

It's cool that there are these effects and sounds that you can play with but they are too generic and not really adjustable. I download it just to show people what it can do and uninstall as soon as I'm done. I can control the lights with music center alone so I don't need to use this. Maybe if it wasn't so much like a kids toy or app maybe I would keep it on my phone case it
