The upgrading system is what really holds this game back, having to rely on two crate types which aren't even guaranteed to give you an adequate amount of chipsets considering how expensive they are, even when watching ads to boost earnings by triple. I've reached a dead end at Chapter 19 just because I can't get specific upgrades. Another issue is the staggering from getting hit, its unbearable considering the amount of projectiles ramps up significantly and gets you killed from one slip up.

I'm writing this review after beating chapter 19. As many other reviews say, the game becomes difficult from one level to the next. However, that doesn't mean it becomes pay to win. The game encourages you to try and discover different strategies as you go on, and at times, it may become grindy, but buying loot boxes won't really take you that far if you don't know what you are doing. So far, I am having a blast with the game. Edit: I just beat Chapter 36, game is still fun

It's just not a good game. It seems fun at first, but eventually, you will hit a wall and realize that there is no way to get strong enough to get past it. You can upgrade your stats, but it gets expensive quickly, and the upgrades are completely random, so that's useless. You can upgrade your chips/drones, but that needs materials from an expensive gacha system with terrible odds. Even if you wanted to pay to win, the amount it would take to make a difference is ridiculous.
