Update Sep 2024 - still getting ads. Saying "sorry for the inconvenience caused" and doing nothing to fix it is bad customer service. Cancelled subscription. Update Jun 2024: Almost every time I tap the word of the day in the notification panel, it shows a pop up ad. I've had the app for several months. It is still a problem. Original: Ads in paid subscription 😞 I go to word of the day, and it shows an ad with loud audio. This is unacceptable in a $20 / year subscription for a dictionary.

It's, quite obviously, useful in a great number of different ways. Spell checking and definitions clearly being the top of the list. The pronunciation assistance has been the most primarily useful one, though, for my family. We have (myself not included - I just watch and listen) arguments and disagreements over such that have, in the past, lasted for months! So, yes, this is nothing less than perfect for those in need of a dictionary service.

Every two words and even returning to the app results in an intrusive ad, which makes the entire experience seem like an extortion scheme to get you to pay $2.99 a month. "Please pay $2.99 a month so your experience can be minimally usable". I'd pay that a year for just an ad free experience, but the current model leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Just let me pay once to remove these terrible ads!

Hello Mario,
The free app offers a lifetime use of the application, encompassing maintenance, future updates, tech support, and more. To sustain a completely free license, we secure funding through two channels: advertisements and paid licenses. If you wish to unlock the full Premium capabilities, consider upgrading.
Regards,
Martin
