There REALLY needs to be a way to limit bandwidth used when syncing with the blockchain. I bought a new phone, so I transferred my wallet backup from the old phone and started the restore process. It's used 100GB of data so far in the last 24 hours, and there are still three YEARS worth of blockchain to go. I can't find any way to pause the syncing process, and it still appears to be running even after force-closing the app. And it's using as much of my internet bandwidth as it can get its hands on. Oh, and it's giving me an audible notification beep every time it syncs a new block! Until the ability to pause syncing and limit bandwidth are implemented, the wallet restore function of this app is practically unusable.

You only need to restore if you loose your phone! If you want to migrate to a new phone, simply use a Bitcoin transaction from your old phone to the new. Apart from that, background sync is already limited to unmetered data connections (typically Wifi). Only if you launch the app it will also use metered data.

Never done anything with bitcoin before. Loaded money after downloading wallet from Google play. Can see a balance that is somewhat less than what I added, but cannot 'send' to another wallet. When I open the 'send' link at bottom right, a window opens prompting for wallet address and amount. I enter the info, and the 'send' link never highlits to allow me to complete the transaction. No customer service line or phone number associated with this- just a wallet with no options. Beware.

I installed app on a new phone a couple of weeks ago. I immediately imported a wallet from an old phone. That seemed to work fine. It said something about resyncing 30 months of data, after a long time it went down to 29 months, then 28 and so forth. It finally finished about a day later. and the phone was pretty warm :-) I left it plugged in. Over the course of about one day I was surprised to see my phone used 50 gigabytes of data (!) This was on Wi-Fi so it really wasn't a big deal. However, that doesn't seem normal I did a "report issue" with this info. I installed it on 3/11; at the time it was Version: 7.69 (469)

Thanks! We just replied to your report. Generally speaking, it is expected that the blockchain sync after a wallet restore takes a lot of resources, so don't worry.
