onx is decent app. the biggest issue is offline maps. the main reason that i still use other maps is onx offline maps feature is so inconvenient. it requires downloading small sections instead being able to download entire regions. riding/driving offroad seems typically no mobile phone service and that can happen at any moment. i want ability to download entire state or even entire country. other map apps offer this capability. this is by far the #1 reason that i and others don't use onx much.

Very disappointed. The way the maps work is almost exactly the worst design I could think of. Trail names aren't visible until zoomed in to an extreme where you can't see far enough to plan your route. Municipality names not visible at all at any zoom level. Cumbersome to drop pins and create a route. The feature to track where you have been works nice, but that's useful for where you've been... not where you want to go.

The Discover tab shows how long a trail is, but not how far away. When I found myself at a closed trail with a wife growing ever more impatient, I had to keep hitting the navigate button to open Google Maps which would then tell me how far away something was, then switch back to onX and re-center on my current GPS location, then try the discover tab again while trying to remember which trails I already checked. I feel like "how far away" is a VERY basic missing map feature.
