I set tantan search parameter to 50 miles, and I get other states, other side of the country, or even outside the country. They all say they are within 1-50 miles on the profiles. There are way too many fake profiles and occasional prostitution offers. I report all to tantan, and they penalize them somehow. Few get deleted, I notice. After a few messages, many want to get off the app onto other platforms to continue talking and block if you don't want to until meeting in person. Save the money

I think it's great in many ways BUT I hate the distance controls in search. If I set it to 25 miles, why am I seeing people from other countries or 40 miles away??? If I say 25 miles, I mean 25 miles. I don't want to see anyone outside of that range, especially in other countries! It's also full of fakers, catfish with stolen photos, and they aren't banned or penalized when I report them!!

I went through a sextortion experience, and while it didn't happen on the app, this was a verified user that this happened through, and so letting the person do it through this outlet just unnerved me. Should I have been smarter, yes, but the fact it was a verified user just makes me feel sort of unsafe. Finally, from my experience, a lot of the girls on here seem to be part of extort agencies. I deleted the app now so as to not face something similar.
