the app isn't great. I get numerous funds for phone handling even though it's in a vent phone holder and I'm not touching it. bumpy roads apparently trigger this action. the 14 day "learning period" it didn't happen and I had a 100% score at the end. now? I'm at 59% without any change in driving habit. feels like a bait and switch to get purple to sign up. hands free calls shouldn't ding your score either but they do.

I have encountered a scoring flaw in the app that seems to not be fair, just, or equitable. When app resets every six months after my initial trip, my score decreases from 100 to 92 or 93, even with zero trip violations. How is that? By comparison, in high school or college, not a single instructor took off 7 or 8 points before I turned in an assignment. I realize there has to be a scoring system but it has to be an objective, realistic, fair system.

In general, I like the app and the savings. My complaint is...I don't appreciate getting ripped off. I'll explain. In Corpus Christi, we have many drives with beautiful water views. Sometimes, I pull off the road, park my vehicle, and take pictures. Yet the app issues phone handling penalties and deductions from the discount. I've called USAA, but no help. This app can detect a quick stop, but can not detect a park, long stop off the road. Hmmmm! This must get fixed. Be fair.
