About this app

Tired of nagging your kids to get ready? Asking them 10 times to put away their toys?

The Lickety Split Musical Timer turns daily tasks into a fun, beat-the-clock game. Accelerating classical music encourages dawdling kids to get going, while an animated hourglass counts down. The abstract concept of time becomes tangible for kids.

The timer uses encouragement and the power of music to motivate children as they move through daily transitions. So, instead of nagging, grown-ups are free to champion their kids!

Developed by parents and educational technologists. Perfect for preschoolers, early elementary schoolers, and their grown-ups.

The lite version includes 4 classical music songs for common children's tasks. The full version includes 9 common tasks, as well as 4 custom time settings and the ability to use your own music.

The children absolutely LOVED it, I only used the 1 minute 'challenge' timer and was afraid at first that they won't like the classical music but I was pleasantly surprised how much it inspired them! Oh, and almost forgot to mention they loved the animated character. P. S. The only problem is that at the end of the timer without the music there's no promised laughing sound on at the end.

We have loved using this app every night for our son's bedtime routine, but the Aug 2023 update seems to have eliminated some features. When the child taps the "I did it" button, you no longer get the cheering sounds. Tonight the app glitched and the timer disappeared entirely after he tapped the button.

I work with kids with autism and/or behavioral needs. Today, my little buddy was very noncompliant. This app got my buddy excited to follow directions. "Do you want to play beat the timer?" Her eyes would light up and she'd rush to do whatever it was and then ask to press the I did it button and see what prize she got! Saving my sanity πŸ™ I just wish that the "my song" option would a) play a random snippet of song a specified length B) randomize song Also edit presets, customize colors
