About this app

This tiny app can add a "Web search" action to the text selection toolbar on Android.

It also adds a "Web search" as target for sharing text.

The default search engine can be configured in its settings page, openable in Custom Tabs toolbar, or the App info page for this app in system Settings.

Text selection toolbar requires Android 6.0 or above, so this app requires it as well.

This feature should be standard in Android! Makes it so much easier to quickly select text and run a Google search. Is there any chance we can have it search using the default browser instead of the built in webview tab? Thanks for the great app!

You can click the settings icon in the custom tab page and turn off custom tabs there.

This is a great app that provides something I've wanted for years. One question though. When I open the selected text box, I see "Web search" offered twice. This does no harm. I'm still very happy to have this app, but why is it offered twice?

Chrome offers its own "Web search" action when inside Chrome, but not for other apps - while this app provides the action for all apps in the system. Since there's no way to opt out of showing the action for a single app, unfortunately users (including me) have to bear with a duplicate action inside Chrome.
