About this app

DatChat is a secure social networking app and private messenger that gives you the freedom to talk without worry with self-destructing, screenshot protected, encrypted posts and messages. Text privacy with your social network means control even after you hit send or submit.

Stay safe: DatChat delivers a safe space for private posts and messages with your social network. Social posts are kept secure and out of the wrong hands. Stay private and avoid screenshotting with our proprietary anti-screenshot protection, and receive notifications if someone tries. Group message your friends, family and social network with end-to-end encrypted connection.

Safety first: control over conversations even after you hit send. Stay private even after they are sent. Nuke conversations on both the sender and recipient devices for privacy. Messages can be unsent at any time with ease and vanish without a trace when they reach view limits or are manually destructed.

Group messages and chats can be created where only you and the friends you invite to the group can post, comment and like. Private chat with as many accounts as youā€™d like friends and family. Safe, private messages and pictures are only visible when logged into that respective account.

Private pictures: only your profile picture is available for anyone to view on DatChat. Pictures stay private with encryption on a private camera roll hidden behind other pictures. Never worry about picture security again.

Download DatChat today to enjoy free, private and secure messaging.

Needs an Interface Overhaul. This app has the best security and privacy features out of any social media app, but it's user interface is very unpolished, and it feels like an outdated website. I feel like this app could draw in more users if it had a more attractive user interface. Another feature that would be nice would be adding different notification sounds to different contacts or adding an in-app guide to features that are not immediately obvious, similar to the tutorial chat.

At first, I didn't realize how to use the destroy text within a certain time or how many times it can be viewed before self deleting. There is a small bomb icon next to the bottom text box that you can turn on and off with a touch. In the off position it texts as normal not hiding the text or anything, but you could always go back and destroy, or nuke what you have said. If you turn the bomb icon on you now can set how long your text last and they must hold the box on the screen to read.

Had to uninstall. Even when I turned the notifications off the sound would still go off constantly as if I were getting notifications. I never even got a chance to communicate with anybody on the app because the notifications from pages were outrageous. If they make it to where I don't hear the notifications 1000 times while listening to a podcast then I'll install again.
