Checkers (AKA Draughts) is one of the world's most popular board games. The earliest records of this game date back to the Egyptians 3500 years ago. In more recent times this has been most favoured by the USA and Scotland, the two countries to provide the most World champions in this game. In England and Scotland this classic board game is known as English Draughts. This implementation has been designed to provide a strong engine, even if only running on a mobile phone. Unlike many commercial Checkers programs, it correctly plays the common 2K v K, essential for quality checkers/draughts play.

I haven't played checkers in years. I forgot how fun the game is. I have continued to go through the skill levels. 2nd review: I've been enjoying this game for a while now.. moved up the skill level and love my "simple" accomplishments. It's always a challenge and lots of fun. I recommend to friends and think everyone should give it a try.

I get the need for ad revenue. I worked in digital ads and strongly believe it helps sustain the development ecosystem. But the way ads are implemented on this (and others) is deceptive. Ads often apear in a way that takes over your screen. Difficult or impossible to escape. Any attempt to click home or dismiss the app results in a visit to the advertisers landing page, usually promoting another app. That's not legit. If I were an advertiser, I'd seriously reconsider where I'm placing my spend.

We're sorry for your experience. Popup ad (outside of games so it doesn't disrupt play) is designed to be skippable after 5-10 seconds with fast forward/X/Close. If fast forward disappears, tap where it was. Ad networks control how to skip ads + may show them in 2 parts, so please report bad ads to [email protected]. Paid version has no ads.

Checkers is fun again! I had problems though with 2 player mode. My opponent was sitting right next to me but my moves wouldn't show up on his phone. (Update) Thanks to the fast reply from the developer, we fixed the problem. I still really like the game, but after playing many rounds, I think the developer could refine the difficulty levels a bit. There seems to be a huge jump in difficulty from level 2 to level 3. I've won 72% of games in level 2, but only 24% in level 3.

Thank you for your feedback. Levels have been calibrated against each other but different human play styles may find some cpu styles easier than others. Don't forget you can use Hint (? on Menu) to suggest moves to help you learn as you move up levels.
